This is a drawing featuring an elaborate allegorical and heraldic design. The central figure is a standing female clad in classical armor, holding a flag and standing on a pedestal. Flanking her are two seated female figures in classical attire, one holding a sword and scales, the other an open book. Below the central figure is an ornate cartouche with Italian text concerning the statutes of an order dedicated to Grand Duke Cosimo II. Surrounding the base are two figures, one a soldier and the other depicted with symbols of maritime authority such as ships or cannons. The composition is rich with symbolism related to law, governance, and military strength.
