Artist, French, 1592 - 1635

The image depicts a group of sheep grazing and resting on a textured landscape. The point of view is slightly elevated, looking down onto the scene. In the background, there are hills and a structure resembling a tower or ruin on top of a hill. The horizon separates the terrain from the sky. On the left, a person is running, in the center another figure wields a staff, and to the right, a person is in combat with a wolf-like creature. The style is clean and precise, using crosshatching and linear strokes for texture and depth. The color palette is monochromatic, with black lines against a light background.
