Artist, French, 1592 - 1635

The image shows a busy urban scene with buildings lining both sides of a street. An archway in the distance leads out of the scene. The background features a city wall with more structures and rooftops fading into the distance. The central structure has a dome. The illustrations depict figures moving about, some with canes or appearing blind or wounded. Other figures are engaged in various activities, adding to the liveliness of the scene. The artwork is done in a precise, fine line style typical of etchings with a monochrome sepia color palette.
