This drawing depicts a scene at a classical architectural edifice. The grand building has large columns and multiple sets of stairs leading up to an entrance. Several figures are shown on and around the stairs, some in traditional robes. The elements of light and shadow are depicted using fine lines, giving the image depth. The use of perspective in the positioning of the architecture emphasizes grandeur and scale.
