Artist, Florentine, 1610 - 1664

The image shows a full-body view of a person seated on a large horse, turned slightly away from the viewer with their head tilted to the side. The rider is wearing a loose-fitting cloak and a cap, with curly hair protruding from under the cap. The cloak is draped over their shoulders and ends just above what appears to be a patterned saddle or cloth covering the horse's back. The rider holds onto the horse's reins, which are visible along the animal's neck. In the background, there are two other people on horseback positioned to the left and right of the central figure, as well as two figures standing on foot in the distance. The scene is set within an oval border, which is etched with lines to create a suggestion of clouds in the sky and a landscape that extends into the distance.
