Artist, Scottish, 1865 - 1945

The image displays a street view from a slightly elevated position, showing a wide road lined with buildings. The horizon is at the upper third of the image where the street converges with a canopy of trees. The scene is composed of fine, detailed etching work with delicate lines and stippling for depth and texture. On either side of the street are cottages with foliage around them, detailed with crosshatch shading. The color palette is monochromatic, using shades of sepia and brown. In the distance, the road narrows, and trees form a leafy archway on the horizon.
