The scene is depicted from a slightly elevated viewpoint, showing a group of figures and a landscape. The horizon is placed moderately low, with trees and a small structure in the distance. The style of the artwork features fine, detailed lines and hatching, giving texture and depth to the elements. The color palette is monochromatic, in black and white. Closest to us, a group of soldiers is shown, with one soldier on horseback leading the group towards the right side where another figure appears subdued.
