In the print, we are looking at a city street. Closest to us, there is pavement and the staircase of a building with intricate wrought-iron railing on the left. To the right, the buildings cast deep shadows onto the street. As the view extends further, the road leads to a square lined by buildings on either side, with indistinct people near a fountain in the center. The horizon is defined by the row of buildings across the square, where the rooftops and chimneys are silhouetted against the sky. The sky above is mostly clear, with faint marks suggesting clouds or smoke. The print has dark lines on beige paper.
