This print shows a scene at street level, looking down a narrow walkway or alley. In the distance, the walkway is framed by closely packed buildings in various shapes and sizes. The facades of the buildings are light in color, and they have dark roofs. Near us, there is a set of stairs on one side of the walkway, leading up towards the buildings and separated by a high wall. On the right, a low wall separates the walkway from an open area where some trees grow. To the right of center, a woman in a long dress stands near the low wall, facing away from us. In the distance, under the tall buildings, there are several indistinct figures walking or standing where the walkway intersects with a horizontal road. The sky above the buildings is dark.
