Artist, Scottish, 1865 - 1945

The image is a pencil drawing depicting an architectural perspective from a slightly elevated point of view, looking down a passage along the side of a building. Gargoyles protrude from the building on the left-hand side, leading the eye into the distance. An intricately detailed faxe7ade with columns and stone ornaments continues past the gargoyles. A figure stands under a shaded alcove in the distance, partially shadowed by an entryway. A flag hangs down from a flagpole above the alcove. The drawing uses fine pencil lines with shading to convey depth and texture, with a color palette limited to shades of gray.
