Artist, French, 1832 - 1883

The image shows multiple figures, primarily focusing on one person in the foreground. This person is depicted from head to toe, standing upright with a slight turn of the body to their right. Their facial features are gently sketched with a soft expression, and their hair is mostly covered by a large, dark headscarf or hood. Their clothing is a long, dark, full-skirted garment that covers them entirely down to the ground. One of their hands is visible and holds a dark object, possibly a bag or a muff, and the other hand holds what appears to be a light-colored handkerchief or similar item. Surrounding the central figure, there are other individuals in the background wearing hats and dark clothing, seemingly forming a gathering or procession. The background is textured with dark, abstract shapes, set against a light sky. Two small poodle-like dogs are at the feet of the central figure.
