The image depicts a settlement in an open landscape, with a line of trees and a small village on the horizon. Two cannons, a road, a thatched-roof dwelling with smoke, people engaged in different activities, and two figures on a barrier are also visible. The etching has fine linear strokes, providing texture and depth, and is rendered in a monochromatic color palette with rich contrasts between the lines and the background.
