This is a painting of a human skull. The painting shows a skull emerging from a dark background with a mix of earthy tones and highlights of white chalk or pastel. The skull is front-facing, centered in the composition, with prominent eye sockets and nasal cavity. The use of rough brushwork or shading gives the skull a spectral appearance. The style is reminiscent of Odilon Redon, known for symbolic and atmospheric works.
