Associated Names
Mark Rothko

Painter, American, born Russia (now Latvia), 1903 - 1970

The artwork features an abstract composition with vertical and horizontal lines creating a structured grid-like pattern. The top section contains a framed image within a rectangular frame. The lower section depicts three indistinct figures standing between two forms that resemble sculptures. The use of earthy tones like deep reds and greens combined with textured brushwork gives the piece an aged quality.
