Artist, Florentine, 1610 - 1664

The image depicts two full-length figures from behind. The larger figure stands with a relaxed posture, holding an object in his left hand. This figure has a beard and is wearing a headpiece with a long feather or ribbon extending from the back. Their clothing is a long, flowing garment reaching down to the ankles with voluminous sleeves and a cape draping from the shoulders. A sword or scabbard is visible on the left side, hanging from a belt. The smaller figure stands a short distance away, looking up at the larger person, dressed in a similarly styled tunic with striped sleeves and headwear. The background is a plain, lightly shaded space with minimal detail, including a small drawing of two distant figures on horseback.
