The image is a black and white photograph composed of two sections. The upper section shows a deserted gas station and cafe in a rural setting. Closest to us, a gas pump stands in front of the cafe with a sign reading "cafe." In the lower section, there is the rear view of an old Chevrolet car with a "Texas" license plate and an animal hide tied to the trunk. Across the road, there is an old truck and a Texaco sign. The horizon is low, with flat terrain in the upper section and rolling hills in the lower section. The color palette is monochromatic, emphasizing contrast and texture. The use of shadows and light gives depth to the composition.
