This is a drawing of an allegorical scene framed with ornate decoration. The central part of the drawing depicts a gathering of figures in a historical or fantastical setting. A central figure stands with one arm raised in a gesture. Other figures surround him, in various attitudes. In the background is a guillotine and various objects, indicating a theme of judgment or execution. The top of the drawing is adorned with Baroque-style flourishes and figures, including a cherubic face on the left and a face or mask at the center. The bottom section is embellished with a red emblem. The style of drawing reflects detailed and expressive linework.
