Drey Gallery, Paul

Biography

Paul Drey was the grandson of the founder of the A.S. Drey gallery in Munich, which relocated to New York in 1936 due to economic measure imposed by the Nazi government. Paul took over the New York gallery, located on Fifth Avenue, and c. 1937 moved it to a location on East 57th Street where he operated under his own name. He died in March 1953 at age 68.
