upper center: DAN; lower right in plate: .7.; in margin below image, in plate: Dan factus populi iudex est ut tribus o[m]nis. / Caetera collatus in semita Colubro. / Cerasti, morsu prendenti posteriora, / Fortis equi; ascensor quo cadet ipse retro. (Dan has become the judge of the people, and also of each tribe. He is otherwise as a horned viper on the path that bites the heels of a game horse so that the rider falls backward.
