By descent from the sitter to Frank Bartow West [1869-1942], Macon, Georgia; to his son, Addison Tinsley West [1897-1985], Orlando, Florida;[1] sold 21 February 1963 to (Hirschl and Adler Galleries, New York); purchased 15 March 1963 by Edgar William and Bernice Chrysler Garbisch;[2] gift 1965 to NGA.
