Painter, American, born Russia (now Latvia), 1903 - 1970

This painting consists of swirling, curved, and blended lines forming an abstract representation of a group of people gathered together. The abstract composition includes elongated vertical shapes and curved lines, suggesting people standing or walking in a street-like setting. The central shapes resemble people dressed in various styles, some wearing hats, placed in front of a background including block-like shapes resembling buildings or walls. The colors are predominately earthy tones with streaks of reds, browns, and greens, all painted in thick, visible brushstrokes.
