Employee Viewpoint Survey

In 2021, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 865,000 federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.

At the National Gallery, 705 federal employees were surveyed and 352 responded, for a response rate of 49.9%, which well exceeded the government-wide response rate of 33.8%. The survey included 44 “core” questions. The responses to 22 (50.0%) of these questions were identified as National Gallery "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 0 questions (0.0%) were identified as "challenges" (35% or more negative responses).

Fiscal Year 2020 Results

In 2020, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 624,000 permanent federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.

At the Gallery, 708 federal employees were surveyed and 438 responded, for a response rate of 61.9%, which well exceeded the government-wide response rate of 44.4%. The survey included 38 “core” questions. The responses to 18 (47.4%) of these questions were identified as Gallery "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 0 questions (0.0%) were identified as "challenges" (35% or more negative responses).
