Employee Viewpoint Survey
In 2022, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 1.5 million federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.
At the National Gallery, 684 federal employees were surveyed and 416 responded, for a response rate of 60.8%, which well exceeded the government-wide response rate of 35.3%. The survey included 89 “core” questions. The responses to 43 (48.3.%) of these questions were identified as National Gallery "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 3 questions (3.4%) were identified as "challenges" (35% or more negative responses).

Fiscal Year 2021 Results
In 2021, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 865,000 federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.
At the National Gallery, 705 federal employees were surveyed and 352 responded, for a response rate of 49.9%, which well exceeded the government-wide response rate of 33.8%. The survey included 44 “core” questions. The responses to 22 (50.0%) of these questions were identified as National Gallery "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 0 questions (0.0%) were identified as "challenges" (35% or more negative responses).
