The image is a full-body portrait of a seated man. He is positioned slightly turned to his left with his legs crossed. His facial features show a calm expression, and he has light skin and white hair that is styled backward. The man is wearing formal attire that includes a dark blue coat with large gold buttons, a yellow waistcoat, a white neck scarf with floral patterns, knee-length black breeches, and light blue stockings. He sits on a wooden chair next to a round wooden table, on which there is an open book and a small rectangular object. The background features a green wall with an ornamental border and a large, empty fireplace behind him. The floor is covered with a light-colored carpet that has a simple pattern.

This painting shows multiple birds on and around a small, leafy tree. The birds are a variety of colors and sizes, including birds that look like hawks, blue jays, hummingbirds, magpies, and kestrels. They are shades of black, white, brown, gray, red, yellow, and pale blue. The birds are positioned at various heights on the small tree and on the ground below, all facing different directions. The ground is green, with small grasses and ferns, and the sky behind the tree is pale yellow.

We look across and down at a channel of water separating two landmasses labeled "Boston" and "Charles Town" in this horizontal landscape painting. Four three-masted ships are in the aquamarine-blue harbor between us and the land. Three of them have their sails unfurled and smoke billows from the broad, starboard side of each. Tidy rows of brown houses line the area of Boston. A puff of white smoke rises from the farthest point. Two arrow-shaped missiles, perhaps projectiles on fire, arc toward Charles Town, where billowing gray plumes of smoke rise from vivid orange fire on the far side of the landmass. Rowboats bring soldiers to the shore of Charles Town, close to where hundreds of soldiers line up and fire at each other. Much of the rest of Charles Town is a hill leading to sheer cliffs to our right. Tan and gray-colored smoke mixes among bright white clouds against a pale blue sky on the top half of the painting.

The image shows a tranquil waterway surrounded by hills and foliage. On the horizon, there are buildings including a castle and a town with a flag-topped tower. The vegetation is depicted with thick brushstrokes, giving it texture. The color palette includes warm and earthy tones with hints of red. In the foreground, a couple stands by an embankment watching boats on the water. Birds fly low over the water in the distance.

This is a painting of a large cat's head amidst birds in a forest setting. The cat's head emerges from tall grass, and the rest of its body is not visible. Its fur is a mix of brown and black with a cream area around its nose and cheeks, and it has long white whiskers. Its ears are pricked up, and its yellow eyes are looking upwards. In the cat's mouth is a bird with blue and green feathers, a black head, and a long black beak. To the left and right of the cat are two thin trees with birds in them; on the left is a bright red bird, and on the right is a bird with teal, green, and black feathers. The trees depicted have sparse branches with a few green leaves at the top. The sky behind the cat and trees is light blue.

This painting depicts a rural scene with people gathered in front of log cabins. Hills, sparse trees, and a haystack are visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky. In the distance on the left, two people stand on a pile of logs, a small fire breaking out on the far left and putting gray smoke in the air. Closer to us on the left, a man stands by a machine made of several horizontal rods, appearing to feed long strands of fiber or grain into it. Gathered in a line across the rest of the painting is a crowd of men and women, appearing to hold long, flat objects and bundles of thin fiber. Some of the people talk while others seem to dance. The people all have pale skin, and the women wear colorful dresses with aprons and bonnets, while the men wear jackets, vests, and top hats.
