Film Legacies of the Black Arts Movement

Programmed in conjunction with the exhibition Photography and the Black Arts Movement: 1955-1985, this film series approaches the movement’s legacy of films and videos by and about key cultural figures like Sonia Sanchez, Gordon Parks, Barbara McCullough and many others. This series also highlights the influence of the Black Arts Movement on today’s media artists and filmmakers, who exercise self-determination and expression through cinema.
