Overview: 167 paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints, and sculptures were selected from the Chilean exhibition, assembled by the University of Chile in 1941 for the observance of the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city of Santiago. They were brought to the United States by the Toledo Museum of Art in collaboration with the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs, and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Chile and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Chile.
