February 27 – April 30, 1963
Ground Floor, Cafeteria Corridor

This exhibition is no longer on view at the National Gallery.

Overview: Watercolor renderings from the Index of American Design were on view. The exhibition was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Department of Labor on March 4, and the renderings illustrated tools used by American workers before the advent of mass production.
