Overview: 118 master drawings were shown, ranging from the 15th to the 19th century.

Organization: The exhibition was coordinated by Diane De Grazia. It was organized by the Nationalmuseum of Sweden with 3 participating American museums: the National Gallery of Art, Kimbell Art Museum, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

Sponsor: The exhibition was supported by Volvo North America Corporation and by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities.
