Overview: Approximately 75 northern and central European paintings, drawings, watercolors, and sculptures came from Harvard University's Busch-Reisinger Museum, known for its collection of 20th-century German art. Paintings by German expressionists Max Beckmann, Erich Heckel, Emile Nolde, and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, sculpture by Ernst Barlach, Georg Kolbe, and Renee Sintenis, as well as works by Bauhaus artists were shown.
