Overview: A chronologically arranged selection of 115 works on paper and vellum from the National Gallery's collection illustrated the image of the garden. The works ranged from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. The exhibition included woodcuts, engravings, etchings, aquatints, watercolors, pastels, manuscript leaves, and pen and ink drawings.
Organization: Virginia Tuttle Clayton, curator of old master drawings, was the exhibition curator.
