Overview: Included in the exhibition were William Hogarth's best-known series, The Harlot's Progress,The Rake's Progress, and Marriage à la Mode. Also on view were parts of the almost complete collection of Thomas Rowlandson's caricatures, acquired by Lessing Rosenwald in July 1945 for the Gallery from an English private collection.
