Overview: The 154 drawings in this exhibition were by 85 artists and were chosen from 12 Italian collections. Giulia Sinibaldi, director of the print room of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, and her assistant, Maria Fossi Todorow, organized and directed the exhibition. They selected the drawings, wrote the scholarly catalogue, and accompanied the show to Washington. The exhibition, which celebrated the centennial of the unification of Italy, was circulated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.
