Overview: 59 prints by Jasper Johns were presented in the exhibition, which examined Johns' printmaking during the 40-year period from 1960 to 2000. Prints with Johns' well-known iconic motifs of numerals and alphabets as well as images of targets, maps, flags, ale cans, and the seasons were included. Prints in the exhibition were primarily from the collection of the National Gallery of Art, augmented by promised gifts and loans from the artist.

Organization: The exhibition was organized by Ruth Fine, curator of modern prints and drawings, National Gallery of Art. HSBC Bank USA was the sponsor. The brochure was made possible by the Terra Foundation for the Arts.
