Overview: 18 sheets with 23 drawings by Michelangelo, and 50 drawings and 5 engravings by his contemporaries were selected from the collections of the British royal family. The works were chosen to illustrate the effect of Michelangelo's work on the art of his era.

Organization: The exhibition was organized by the Royal Library, Windsor Castle, in association with the National Gallery of Art, the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth, and the Art Institute of Chicago. The concept for the exhibition was developed by Martin Clayton, assistant curator at Windsor Castle, and Paul Joannides, fellow of Clare Hall and lecturer in the history of art at the University of Cambridge. Andrew Robison, Andrew W. Mellon senior curator, coordinated the show for the National Gallery.
