Overview: A 5-panel painting by Joseph Stella, The Voice of the City of New York Interpreted (1920-1922), was lent by the Newark Museum for a special installation. The museum was undergoing renovation at the time. Each of the panels measured more than 7 feet in height. In addition, 21 photographs by Alfred Stieglitz belonging to the National Gallery, also of New York City themes, were shown.
