French Nineteenth-Century Prints from the Rosenwald Collection
    Closed December 5, 1967
Four women shown from the waist up to about mid-thigh, engaged in an outdoor activity. Two women in the front are bending over, possibly picking something from the ground, while the two behind them are in mid-movement. The woman on the left has her hair tied back and wears a patterned garment, while the woman beside her has auburn hair in a loose bun and wears a rich red dress with puffed sleeves. Behind them, a woman lifting a bundle on her shoulder wears a dress with wide sleeves and long, dark hair cascading, and another woman holding a similar bundle is in motion. The women's clothing is voluminous and indicative of a historical or pastoral style. The setting is an open field with patches of grass, under a soft blue and white sky, creating a peaceful outdoor scene.

The illustration depicts a person sitting on a stump playing a guitar. The individual is sitting cross-legged, wearing medieval-style clothing and a cap. They have long curly hair, a straight nose, and slightly pursed lips. The background shows a rustic landscape with hills, trees, buildings, and fluffy clouds in the sky. A cat-like creature is nearby, along with a scroll on a tree.

The image features a circular arrangement of intricately drawn figures and motifs. The design resembles a wreath adorned with classical figures. Human-like sculptures in various poses connect with swirling shapes at the top. The circular design contains elements such as small pillars, urn-like shapes, and mythical forms. At the center, there is a structure resembling an ornate gazebo or domed pavilion with a cross, supported by columns.

The image shows a riverside landscape with rustic buildings along the riverbank, a curved tree in the center. The artwork features delicate brushstrokes, detailed natural elements and architecture, and a monochromatic color palette of black and gray. Two figures are near the riverside, and structures populate the distant skyline with a prominent spire.

The image shows two people standing next to each other in an embrace. Both figures have serene facial features with halos above their heads. The background includes green hills, a path, and a distant castle with a red roof under a blue sky with cloud-like streaks. The scene is framed in red.
Drawings from the Collection of the National Gallery of Art
    Closed April 17, 1966
The image displays swirling lines and exaggerated curved shapes to create an abstract composition. A central figure wearing a jester-like hat with bells rides a fantastical creature and holds drumsticks poised above drums emitting smoke-like swirls. An animal resembling a dog or feline stands next to a striped cat playing on the ground. The artwork blends elements of whimsy and fantasy in an abstract manner.
Modern French Prints from the Rosenwald Collection
    Closed March 9, 1966
This is a print showing two horses being ridden. The horses and riders have their backs to us. Two jockeys lean forward on their horses, both wearing tan pants. The one on the right has a light peach shirt and orange hair or an orange helmet, while the other has a white shirt with black hair or a black helmet. Both horses are a rich reddish-brown color, and their heads are extended forward with their hooves off the ground. The ground below them is pale green, and in the distance brown hills are visible, with a small windmill visible on the right. The sky above is light gray, with a few flags fluttering in the distance.
