Sistren in Photograhy
Sistren in Photography brings us five photographers from Birmingham—Claudette Holmes, Balbir Kaur, Vicky , Dawn Selman, and Maxine Walker—who talk about their practice, experience, and inspiration. Discussions on gender and race intertwine with examples from each artist’s portfolio. A look into each photographers’ process culminates in a historic analogue video art demonstration and a lesson in wet darkroom picture manipulation. (Aphra Video collective, 1991, UK, 26 minutes)
