Native peoples have always been here. How are they influencing the world today and shaping our future? Join us for a special evening celebrating the exhibition The Land Carries our Ancestors: Contemporary Art by Native Americans

  • Watch performances by the Uhwachi-Reh dance troupe, spotlighting dancers from Indigenous communities in the DC area.
  • Enjoy short films by Native American filmmakers.
  • Hear pop-up talks in the galleries from curators and community members and “good medicine music” from DJ Troy “Tnyce” Richardson (Haliwa-Saponi).
  • Make your own art inspired by the land and environment.

We thank Dr. Elizabeth Rule, author of Indigenous DC, for designing this program.

Unfortunately the performance by Nicholas Galanin (Lingít/Unangax̂) and Ya Tseen is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Program performances and experiences are subject to change.
