Mark-Making: Layering Color with Pen

Experiment with different mark-making techniques to create rich, colorful drawings that are a combination of process and spontaneity.

Local artist and teacher Michael Booker will share what inspires his work and lead an art-making exploration of the relationships between drawing, painting, textiles, and embroidery.


  • 8.5x11 paper or larger, thicker paper preferred
  • Colored fineliner pens (preferred), ballpoint pens, colored pencils, or fine tip markers
  • Pencil and eraser
  • Ruler or straight edge
