Hailed by the New Yorker as “adventurous and passionate,” Ukrainian-born American pianist Inna Faliks has established herself as one of the most exciting, committed, and poetic artists of her generation. Faliks has made a name for herself through her commanding performances of standard piano repertoire as well as genre-bending interdisciplinary projects and inquisitive work with contemporary composers. In this performance, Faliks plays Maurice Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit followed by contemporary response pieces by Paola Prestini, Timo Andres, and Billy Childs.
