Listen to an enthralling program of works by Haydn, Beethoven, and Brahms featuring the Viano String Quartet with special guest artist Roberto Díaz.

Praised for their “huge range of dynamics, massive sound and spontaneity” (American Record Guide), this critically acclaimed quartet won the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition and is the current Nina von Maltzahn String Quartet-in-Residence at Curtis Institute of Music. The musicians present string quartets by Haydn (No. 5 in D major, Op. 64, “The Lark”) and Beethoven (No. 11 in F minor, Op. 95, “Serioso”), and are joined in Brahms’s String Quintet No. 2 in G major, Op. 111, by Roberto Díaz, President and CEO of the Curtis Institute of Music and former principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

This concert is generously supported by The Gottesman Fund in memory of Milton M. Gottesman.
