Award winning filmmaker Maris Curran presents her most recent feature Jeannette, an intimate vérité documentary about a survivor of the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. A lesbian Puerto Rican and single mother, Jeannette is a competitive bodybuilder who uses her unforgettable strength to transform her life as she struggles to heal in the aftermath of trauma (2022, 78 minutes).

Preceded by two of Curran’s short non-fiction films: While I Yet Live, a study of five quilters and freedom fighters from Gee's Bend, Alabama (2018, 15 minutes), and The Man is the Music, a portrait of the artist and musician Lonnie Holley whose sculptures are included in the exhibition (2016, 19 minutes).
