Teen Volunteer Program
As part of its gallery and studio learning offerings, the department of school, family, and adult programs recruits local high school student volunteers for the fall term (September through December) and spring term (January through May).
Student volunteers assist with clerical and administrative tasks that support the department’s education programs. Typical activities include preparing materials for art projects, photocopying, collating, and program cleanup.
Candidates for the Teen Volunteer Program must be juniors or seniors with a mature, positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The schedule will vary weekly based on the number of projects to be completed. The time commitment can range from 4 to 8 hours per week, with a minimum of 20 hours completed per term. Service hours will be documented and may be submitted for school-based community service credits. Volunteers may work fall or spring terms; positions are not available in the summer.
No parking is available, so volunteers are encouraged to use public transportation (Metrorail or Metrobus).
