Membership Benefits: Sustaining Level

The Circle brings together individuals from across the nation who share an appreciation for the arts and a personal commitment to enhancing the National Gallery of Art. Annual gifts from Circle members help the National Gallery serve the nation by welcoming all people to explore and experience art, creativity, and our shared humanity.

With an annual gift of $5,000 to $9,999, members enjoy the following benefits as a Sustaining member:

  • Invitations to programs featuring National Gallery curators and specialists
  • Additional exhibition catalogs or National Gallery publications
  • Invitation to an evening reception to share with a friend
  • Use of the National Gallery’s private Refectory for lunchtime dining in the East Building on weekdays

Sustaining members also enjoy benefits of membership in The Circle as listed below:

  • Invitations to four evening receptions featuring special exhibitions and the permanent collection
  • Invitations to family programs with breakfast and children's art activities
  • Reservations for Concert Series performances
  • Priority entrance to all special exhibitions
  • Private daytime lectures and previews of special exhibitions
  • Subscription to the Art for the Nation, a semiannual publication for National Gallery friends
  • Recognition in the National Gallery’s Annual Report and Art for the Nation
  • 20% discount at National Gallery Shops
  • Subscription to the monthly Circle e-newsletter
  • Access to the National Gallery of Art Library

The total value of benefits made available is estimated to be $500 for Sustaining level membership. The amount of your contribution that is deductible for federal income taxes is limited to the excess of the value of the contribution over the value of the benefits made available in return. Please note that this amount is subject to change.
