East Shop

In celebration of the Gallery’s 75th anniversary and the reopening of the East Building galleries in 2016, the 1,000-square-foot East Shop was redesigned to reflect the surrounding architecture of I. M. Pei's iconic design. The new East Shop is situated on the Concourse of the East Building and features gifts and souvenirs that complement the building’s modern and contemporary art collections and special exhibitions.

Custom-built triangular vitrines featuring exhibition catalogs and related publications highlight East Building events, such as lectures and book signings.

Specialty gifts are inspired by the great names and movements of the 20th and 21st century: Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Delaunay, Man Ray, Piet Mondrian, Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, and Henri Matisse, as well as Dada, minimalism, and pop art. Distinctive home accents and tableware, modern apparel and accessories, gift books, and more are featured.

Large glass jewelry counters showcase contemporary collections distinguished by their dramatic designs, unusual materials, and fine craftsmanship.
