Composer and long-time friend of the National Gallery’s film program, Donald Sosin returns to perform three original scores written for recently restored classic silent films directed by and starring the incomparable Buster Keaton: The High Sign (1921, 21 minutes), My Wife's Relations (1922, 24 minutes), both accompanied by an ensemble of student musicians from the University of Maryland School of Music, and restored by Cineteca di Bologna in collaboration with Cohen Film Collection at L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory; and The Blacksmith (1922, 25 minutes), restored by Lobster Films and accompanied by Sosin, solo on piano.

The National Gallery partners with the University of Maryland and the Cineteca di Bologna film archive to host two special programs from the most recent iteration of the Italian film festival Il Cinema Ritrovato.
