Biography

Jeanne Lanvin was a French fashion designer who is best known for her signature fragrance Arpège, which she introduced in 1927. Lanvin was married first to Henri-Emile-Georges di Pietro, with whom she had a daughter Marguerite [1897-1958]. Lanvin divorced Pietro in 1903 and married the journalist Xavier Melet in 1907. Her daughter Marguerite married the Comte Jean de Polignac [1888-1943] in 1925 and adopted the name and title Comtess Marie-Blanche de Polignac.
