Biography
Charles Sessler was born in 1854 in Vienna, Austria, and came to the United States in 1880, where he settled in Philadelphia. Two years later he entered the book business, and eventually became one of the world's foremost book dealers, handling rare editions and manuscripts, and helping to build well-known private collections.
He died in 1935, but the business was continued under his name.
