Hunter, Delilah Gustin

American, c. early 19th century

Delilah Gustin Hunter was the sister-in-law of Sarah Ogden Gustin. She probably inherited a portrait of Sarah, painted by American naive artist Joshua Johnson around the time of the Sarah's marriage to Robert Gustin (c. 1798-1800). The portrait (now in the NGA) may have passed by descent to Delilah's son, William Hunter, Sr.
