Williams, Mary Ellen

active 1962

Biography

William P. Campbell of the NGA indicated that Williams was a dealer, possibly in Cazenovia. However, beyond this there seems nothing further to connect her with any New York dealership at the time. Campbell also noted that Williams then owned a copy of the c. 1810 painting, The Proud Mother, (now in the NGA) by an unknown American folk artist.
