Biography

Sarah Carlyle Choate of Cambridge, MA, was married in 1877 to J. Montgomery Sears, one of the wealthiest men in New England, who for many years had the dubious distinction of the paying the highest real estate taxes in Boston. The Sears had one child, also called J. Montgomery, who died at age 32 in an automobile accident in 1908.
